TRIP seminar on August 31
KARACHI (August 17 2002) : National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH), in collaboration with Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA), and Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), will hold on August 31 a one-day seminar on "WTO-TRIP's Agreement" here.
The aim of holding seminar is to create understanding about the economic and social consequences of this agreement on national pharmaceutical industry as its is bound to follow minimum standards set out in the agreement.
Sindh Health Minister, Major General Ahsan Ahmed (Retd) will inaugurate the seminar while Major General Aslam (Retd), Director-General Health Government of Pakistan, Dr Farzana Chaudhry, Drug Controller Rauf Khalid, chairman quality controller committee and other officials of industries and commerce ministries will be present.
Key issued, to be discussed at the seminar include, understanding of TRIP's future outlook, impact on pharmaceutical industry production and exports, critical areas to which national industries is exposed, finding ways to balance local drugs need and prices and strategic solutions to core problems.
