National Accreditation Council workshop for journalists on
August 21
ISLAMABAD (August 08 2002) : Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) Ministry of Science and Technology is going to arrange a one day training and orientation workshop for the journalists on World Trade Organisation (WTO) and National Quality Infrastructure on August 21 at PNAC headquarter.
The aim of the training workshop is to educate the journalists regarding the new world trade systems being set by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and its implications on Pakistan's economy.
The spokesman of the PNAC Abid Sabri said that PNAC intends to bridge the gap of understanding the problems and identifying the gravity of the issues by educating the masses though the media people.
PNAC is the apex body responsible for the establishing the quality standards and accredit the labs and other bodies in Pakistan.
During the workshop, introduction of quality, ISO certification process, Pakistan's efforts towards awareness on quality issues and links between the PNAC and international bodies will be the main focus of the discussions that will help the journalists to better understand the issues.
"This is the first part of training of media men and regularly more workshops will be held in near future on the other aspects of the issues" the spokesman said. Journalists interested to join the training workshop are advised to contact the PNAC latest by August 18, 2002.
