Rs 02 billion for farm to market roads

Asghar Khan said that 206 kilometer Farm to Market roads with
the cost of Rs. 2 billion in17 districts of the country would
be constructed with the assitance of Japan Government. While
addressing to the meeting here on Monday the Minister said
that Pakistan Governemnt with the assitance of Japan
Government had already constructed 730 k.m. farm road with the
cost of Rs. 4billion which helped to gear up transaction of
agricilture products in the
markets.
He said taht the construction of proposed 206 k.m. will be
made by the saving allocation of 730 k.m. roads.
Omar Asghar Khan said that the construction of farm to market
roads was improving thel condition of farmers and providing
them opportunities of business in the areas . He said that the
development work of roads were also creating job opportunities
in
backward areas. He thanked the Japan Government for extending
assiatnce regarding the construction of farm to market roads .
He further hoped that the bilateral friendly relations between
Pakistan and Japan would strengthen in future.
The Minister said that the government was making utmost
efforts for poverty alleviation in the country and funds which
were being received form the donor countries were being
allocated for the development work throug Khushhal Pakistan
Programme. he said that the governemnt had already enhanced
the budget of Khushhal Pakistani
Programme from 7 billion to 15 billion rupees for the current
year which will improve the infrastructure of basic facilites.
